Things I learned at Lebanese University during my whole years ofstudying

Nothing!
To be honest, really i don't know from where to start, but the years i spent at Lebanese university was really spent on nothing, i learned nothing there related to English language.. The courses we took there were only novels "world novels", like (pride and prejudice, the prophet, waiting for Godot, hamlet, Pamela, Shakespeare poems, William Wordsworth). Everything were related to English literature only, nothing related to grammar, conversation, vocab s, communication skills, or to any kind of courses that students in other universities (private universities) are learning it..
During those days, my only wish was to finish university and get graduate, i didn't give an importance to the coming days when am going to teach at schools, what to do, how to plan my lessons, and to deal with students.... And the term objective was unknown to me!
What i can say, maybe it's cause of the national curriculum who need update or it's cause of bad management there or Doctors themselves who didn't made us a single day that they care for our education and development.
Really there is a need for a change in the curriculum first, then in the Doctors who are responsible for everything of their students, but indeed they don't care at all..

  2. It's unfortunate to have teachers who don't care. They are the most needed in a person's life. Of course you have learned something in your old university..even if it's one word that was learned by your own and only effort..realizing what you have missed shows that you learned something as well..The important thing is having the will to learn what you know is needed. Learning is a lifelong journey. Sometimes it's hard, but it is worth it..

  3. When I read these words I realized how blessed we are ! without our teachers' support we would be lost. But that's the ugly truth of our country, these teachers should be really banned from teaching . But why you don't try to look at the bright side , although you didn't take any courses related to grammar but you was able to read master pieces of great poets and to benefit from them a lot .

  5. Your not the only one, I gained nothing too. This post made me remmember my bad old days at this university, and I totally agree that the curriculum must be changed as well as the doctors. It's really very shameful to say that the only national university in Lebanon is the worst and can't provide the suitable education for students
